Automotive

Our films meet the stringent quality standards and requirements of the automotive industry. Our Walopur®- and Platilon®-type films have been specially developed for the production of complex components. They can be processed easily and safely, they stand out for their excellent mechnical properties and high thermal stability. They are free from any plasticisers and are resistant to lubricants, petrol and oil.

Typical applications

Components for acoustic insulation

TPE films are used to protect sound absorbing components against moisture and contamination. Due to their high elasticity, these films are able to transmit incoming sound-waves to the foam over a wide range of frequencies.

Car seats

Convenient seats can be produced by means of the foam-in-place process. TPE films are important components for this, allowing textiles to be vacuum deep drawn. They also prevent liquid foam from penetrating the textile while offering high adhesion coefficients to the foam. Special fil grades from our product portfolio can be used to enhance breathability.

Interior linings

In addition to TPE films, hot-melt films customized to the specific requirements are also suitable as they generate high adhesion forces where heat activation above their melting ranges provides high adhesion. They can be used for a multitude of applications due to their thermal stability. They are mainly processed in roof liners, sunroofs, doortrims or ABC pillars.

Other possible applications:

  • Seat heating
  • Lumbar support systems
  • Parcel shelves
  • Molded floor carpets
