Black-Out thermoplastic polyurethane films prevent light from shining through sun shades, roller blinds, curtains and projection screens. The flexible multilayer film is laminated to the textiles, resulting in opaque laminates- The TPU films allow lower-gauge and leighter-weight structures to be produced to meet the specific requirements of various applications.
The innovative multilayer film prevents light from shining through textiles, curtains and decorative furnishing materials. The Black-Out effect results from a two-layer or multilayer structure comprising flexible thermoplastic polyurethane films. In contrast to coated Black-Out materials, these films are laminated to the textiles in a single operation. The outcome is an opaque yet flexible and rollable laminate. The new TPU films allow lower-gauge and leighter-weight structures to be produced to meet the specific requirements of various applications.
The key benefits are easier handling and economically efficient further processing. Reducing this to a single-pass laminating operation considerably shortens the overall production time as compared with coated Black-Out systems. The new film grades also help absorb sound and ambient noise.
Epurex currently has different versions in its product range. The thicknesses, strucutures and colours can be tailored to the specific application. Additional advantages: the TPU films do not contain any plasticizers and are solvent-free.
