Requirements to medical technology products today have become very stringent because compromises simply cannot be accepted in terms of life cycle, durability and hygiene. We have developed special film solutions for these demanding applications with Walopur®, Platilon® or Walotex®.
Typical applications
Mattress covers
Our films can be used to produce different types of mattress covers both for the private sector and for hospital use. Provided as "simple" cover or quipped with a highly breathable membrane, these covers are ideally suited for people suffering from allergies.
Health-care mattresses
TPU films are ideally suited for use with health-care and segmented mattresses. When used for such applications, our polyurethane films stand out for long life cycles, excellent resistance to hydrolysis and microbes and they are also highly water-tight and air-tight.
Gel pads
Due to their high elasticity and resistance to chemicals and to thermal distortion, and also because they are non-skin irritant, highly stable at low temperatures, polyurethane films are well suited for the production of gel pads.
Plasters
Plasters made of elastic polyurethane tend to follow every movement. They are breathable and permeable to liquids, thus supporting the healing process.
